The Mono-V is manufactured under licence here locally in Canberra, at Designcraft, to Walter Knoll’s stringent quality standards. Its graphic lines and bridge shape stand for architectural clarity.

Walter Knoll Mono-V Executive Desk

Two vertical pieces support one horizontal – recalling the historic place of pilgrimage, Stonehenge. It was this impressive monument that provided designer Wolfgang C. R. Mezger with the inspiration for Mono-V: “To elevate the archetypal look into new spheres, to enliven it with impressive aesthetics, and to imbue it with the most modern of functions.”

The aesthetic of the material conveys a monolithic impression, while Mono-V can be varied between a sitting desk and a standing desk – hence the name.

LEGENDS OF CARPETS: ARCHAIC BEAUTY OF AFRICA!

Walter Knoll’s CEO Marcus Benz’ many trips to and obsession with Africa had him return with his friend, artist & textile designer Helmut Scheufele to fulfil his idea of turning the archaic beauty found in this multi-faceted continent into a collection of carpets.

Based on their travels, Helmut started work painting beautiful abstract impressions that were translated into the designs which now make up The Legends of Carpets collection.

These are Patterned, Plain and Silks. Every carpet is given a name in Swahili, a language that connects many countries in Africa. Pictured below is the Jioni Carpet with the Ishino Sofa, Armchair & Stool.
