Perfectly round curves and right angles offer more than a careful study in elemental geometry: they preserve a generous spirit with an open and welcoming design. This is Comma, by Herman Miller.
Comma’s curved backrest wraps nearly all the way around to embrace the user and provides structure for the slender legs. The seat in plain wood or with a leather upholstered cushion fixed at the centre, seems to float.
They are available with and without arms, as dining chairs or as side chairs. Also available as a bar and counter height stool. They can come in a variety of stain and colourway options too.
Designer Michael Anastassiades is a Cypriot-born, London-based designer whose practice encompasses product, spatial interventions and experimental works, often transcending the distinctions between different fields of creativity.
His work draws inspiration from many sources, which he distils into pure, simple structures. From nature to archaic references of his native Cyprus, the history of Modernism, very personal memories, art and everyday life, he transforms a rich set of diverse references into a timeless vocabulary of form and structure.
