Introducing Herman Miller Australia's Diversity in Design Series in collaboration with The Local Project Featuring design firm SJB and the Nelson Bubble Pendant. Tasked with reinterpreting the iconic Herman Miller Nelson Bubble Lamp to articulate themes of diversity and inclusion, SJB created a design whose strong base reflects the importance of community support and, in the process of working on the project, rediscovered as a team the joys of in-person collaboration within the office.

Ginger Zalaba

Ginger Zalaba grew up among artists and designers. Originally she dreamt of owning a gallery. She graduated from Zurich University of the Arts with a master’s in exhibition design. After her father’s death, she took over her parents’ company in her mid-twenties and, with great determination, transformed it into the design studio she has managed since 2012. In the meantime she has studied interior design at the IED Institute of Design in Italy and made her début at the world’s leading furnishings show, the Salone del Mobile in Milan, with her own furniture collection in 2015.
