Designcraft is a Canberra based furniture and fit out company with extensive expertise in the fabrication of high quality museum, exhibition, public and private projects. We work closely with architects, curators, and designers to provide the most complete service, from design and construction through to fabrication and installation.

Since we were established in 1991 we have successfully undertaken an enormous variety of complex installation and fit-out projects in Australia and overseas. We have grown to become one of Australia’s leading Gallery and Museum installation specialists, and we are industry leaders in the field of Museum showcase design, fabrication and installation.

Designcraft are the Australian distributors for the Netherfield showcase system including Spectrum, Vista, Prism and Fresco showcases. These showcases are constructed to the highest international museum standards relating to security, occupational health and safety, ease of access and conservation issues.

Designcraft are also distributors of Panelock demountable wall systems. Panelock is a versatile and re-useable gallery/display wall system, built around a lightweight aluminium framework, which can be reconfigured time and time again depending on the client’s exhibition requirements. This system allows the client to change the layout of a gallery or exhibition space with ease, which leads to shorter changeover periods and reduced long term fit out costs.

We also offer Hanwell data logging and monitoring equipment. Hanwell manufacture a complete environmental monitoring system that is universally recognised within the gallery and museum industry. We are experienced in the use of a huge variety of materials and finishes, and have extensive contacts in specialist disciplines related to our area of work including designers, model makers and theatrical set makers, through to multi-media professionals. We also have excellent contacts in the graphics and print media industry, which allow us to include graphics production as part of our service. Whether acting as project managers, head contractors or sub-contractors Designcraft are able to offer clients a complete fit out package, from design resolution through to fabrication and final installation.
